Chapter 29 Bonds And Blood Pt 2

Chaerin stared at him but then bit down on his arm–hard. The sensation was strange for Lukas, but as his blood got sucked, he whispered underneath his breath and prayed for a miracle.

"Come on, come on."

Lily stood paralyzed by the building as she watched the scene, everyone else fixated on the couple in the street as a horrible feeling grew in her stomach.

It happened.

[Your Blood Has Heightened Her Cellular Modification Ability]

[Your Blood Has Increased Her Healing Rate]

[Your Blood Powers Will Be Exposed To General Public]

Lukas felt the fangs stop procuring blood as Chaerin\'s head dropped and he caught her before her head fell–and then he picked her up. There was no time.

He met the gaze of Lily once and then he was stumbling back through the crowd, pushing his way out and heading back into the direction of the bar.

Along the way, he\'d caught sight of Chelsea–and her eyes widened at the sight of her sister.

"Chaerin! What–what happened?"

"No time to explain, we got to hide her." Lukas said.

He didn\'t understand why the notification told him that his powers were going to get exposed, but it was normally a bad idea–hence him trying to hide it.

Lukas was led into one of the back doors of the bar and when he arrived, he\'d come across the sight of Daddy Jones slapping the same man he encountered earlier.

"Chelsea… what is the meaning of this?" Alistair Jones frowned and then blinked when he noticed the appearance of Chaerin.

Compared to her grotesque sight from earlier, the tissues were knitting itself together and healing themselves at a rapid rate. The bar manager looked at the only culprit and looked at Lukas.

"Crap." Lukas said.

"Fuck indeed." the man who stumbled into the floor stood up and glared at them. "I thought you were here to help, but this is anything but–"

"We don\'t have the time for any of your petty discussions, lad. We have another situation here, so if you could sit still and stay pretty–it would be much more appreciated." Alistair said and then beckoned Lukas to one of the couches. "Put her here and tell me what happened."

"I\'m not exactly sure–"

"It was a fight between Chaerin and your girlfriend wasn\'t it?" Chelsea\'s fist tightened. "This is…"

"Woah, woah. Lily would never hurt a fly!" Lukas protested.

"Oh really? What about a human though?" Chelsea asked.

Lukas paused for a moment and recalled the incident back at the ceremony–Lily didn\'t bat an eye at the scenario… but that was only because she had grown used to it.

"I… it\'s not exactly her fault that…"

"That she sees humans as livestock and inferior beings?"

"Y…yes."

"Can you believe the nerve of this guy? Unbelievable!"

"I don\'t get how this relates to her hurting Chaerin though!"

"Ah, so you finally admitted to it." Chelsea was seething in rage, but her teeth were frustratedly gritting together. "If it weren\'t for her–I can still post a complaint about this."

"But this is… didn\'t Chaerin start this as you said?"

"Does it really matter who started it or not? As you can see, one of them is perfectly fine and the other is injured beyond–Chaerin? Chaerin!" Chelsea\'s words finished abruptly as she ran forward and threw her arms around her sister.

It caused an uncomfortable look to appear at the man\'s face as he crossed his arms together. Meanwhile Lukas stood uneasily himself and didn\'t know if he should approach or not.

The two men\'s gaze met and for a second, a flicker of recognition appeared in Lukas\' eyes. Despite the difference in hair color and eye color, the man\'s face was unmistakably the human–

"Lukas, let\'s go." A voice snapped his attention.

Chaerin was already standing and completely healed as she grabbed his wrist and dragged him away from the room.

"Don\'t be a stranger." Alistair Jones called out whereas Chelsea simply bit her lip as she stayed behind.

"What was that?" Lukas muttered underneath his breath but then reached out to touch Chaerin\'s face. "Are you really that fine to be moving around like this?"

Chaerin softened against his touch, but nodded. "Yes, I\'m fine–it\'s best that we don\'t get ourselves involved in whatever it is that they\'re doing, alright? The farther away we are, the better."

Lukas\' lips pressed together thinly but he allowed Chaerin to drag him away and the two of them took a long way back to their apartment. It was a silent trek where neither didn\'t quite know what to say.

"I\'m glad to see you again," Lukas finally said.

"Really?" Chaerin\'s gaze flitted to him. "Is that really the truth?"

"Of course it is–I was so worried about you."

"That didn\'t seem to be the case at all. You were happy with… that Tenebris girl weren\'t you?" Chaerin stopped in front of her door and gave him a bitter look. "And I\'ve only added to the mess."

"That\'s not…"

"Don\'t tell me that it\'s a lie–I can see for myself. I have eyes, you know?" Chaerin twisted the doorknob slightly and took a step back.

"Chaerin…" He took a step forward and placed a hand above her head, boxing her in.

"Lukas–I…"

The two of them stared at each other\'s eyes deeply, and the next thing Lukas knew was that his lips were crashing against Chaerin\'s, her arms wrapping around his neck as her back pressed against the frame of the door.

It took them a couple of seconds for the door to turn slightly open and the two fell back inside of Chaerin\'s home, the darkness of the room pervading their senses even further as the rug brushed against Chaerin\'s back.

Lukas\' blood was still fresh in Chaerin\'s lips as she licked and nibbled across his mouth, soft gasps escaping from her as her nails dug in slightly into the fabric of his clothes.

A prickly heat seared between the two of them, an unmistakable lust that couldn\'t be contained after not seeing each other for quite awhile.

Before either of them could be seen by any other residents, Lukas\' foot kicked the door behind them to a close. Complete darkness enshrouded them.
