Warrior's Promise

Chapter 2714

Over a month ago, Su Mo should still have been able to find his way home based on his memory, but after that he could not figure out the directions anymore.

The Void Sea was endless. It had neither directions nor points of reference.

“Ling Chang, this route should be correct, right?” Su Mo came to a halt and asked his companion.

“I think... there’s not much of a difference!” Ling Chang thought for a while and replied with uncertainty.

“We’ll keep moving forward. As long as it’s not in the opposite direction and we’re not walking further away, it shouldn’t be a problem,” said Huo Zhong.

“Alright!” Su Mo nodded. Surely the direction could not be the wrong one. He was just worried there would be major deviations.

After that, the trio continued their flight without any reduction in their speed.

Now, Su Mo and Ling Shang hoped that the Location Compass could find the position of the Cosmic World as soon as possible, and that they would not follow the wrong paths.

When that happened, they would let Elder Huo Zhong lead the way, and they could go faster, hoping at least to reach the Cosmic World before Di Yihun and Zi Xiao did.

As they flew, Su Mo began to harbor deep feelings for the people he missed, including his father, Xiaomo, Xi’er, and Mu Li.

He had been away from the Cosmic World for over two hundred years. He wondered how his people had been doing. Had anyone reached the Supreme Being Realm?

Su Mo was quite confident in their training. Each of his loved ones had top-notch talents.

He would be hardly surprised if someone caught up with him in two centuries.

He had spent one hundred years going to the Cloud Ridge World. That time was enough for many to break through many realms.

Returning from the Cloud Ridge World would take many years as well. So Su Mo was hoping that by the time he got back to the Cosmic World, Su Xiaomo and Xi’er, among others, would have achieved the Supreme Being Realm.

Sighing, Su Mo shifted his thoughts and began to take out the five-piece set from his storage ring.

The more he examined them, the more he favored the five Superior Artifact. Other than the ‘Su Sword’, the other four were just as extraordinary.

The azure robe felt cold and slick to the touch. Its material was unknown, but it possessed incredibly strong defences.

Su Mo poked at the robe with a fingertip charged with Power Source, which actually bounced away.

The jade-colored light armor was vastly different from the robe. It was warm to the touch, like a charcoal grill, and had greater defensive properties than the robe.

The last Superior Artifact was a silver coronet. Its design was not exaggerated. In face, it looked rather simple, like ones worn by important figures in the mortal world.

Su Mo studied it for a while and realized that the coronet was actually a piece of equipment used to defend against mental attacks. When worn on the head, its vitality would connect to the Spiritual Soul and Primordial Spirit for protection.

“How extraordinary!” Su Mo exclaimed. His combat power would greatly increase if he used this set of artifacts. His defences, when equipped with them, would be almost indestructible.

“Ling Chang, you can have this armor!” Su Mo passed the light armor to her.

“Sure!” Ling Chang accepted it wholeheartedly. She knew she could not refuse whatever Su Mo gave her, and she needed it anyway.

Su Mo beamed. With the light armor, Ling Chang’s safety would be well secured.

He examined the artifacts again and kept them, since he was not going to use them so soon.

After that, he thought about his secret mission. He would have to complete that after returning from the Cosmic World.

Would it be difficult?

Indeed, it would. Very difficult, in fact, but he was more than confident because he had Fu Qian,

The mission meant that he had to steal one of the Sky Ridge Star Alliance’s secret treasure, and Fu Qian happened to be a disciple there.

With a shift in thought, Su Mo’s thoughts drifted into the spatial device. Fu Qian’s broken body was floating above a meadow.

“How is the recovery going?” Su Mo’s voice asked loudly.

“I need a body!” Fu Qian’s eyes snapped open, flashing with a sharp gleam. He had told Su Mo many times that he needed a new body. What he had now could not be considered a body, for he had only been left with a head and half a shoulder.

“You don’t need another one. I can mend your natural being!” Su Mo said.

“Restoring my body will do!” Fu Qian said. If he could have his body restored, he would not need to use someone else’s.

But even if he managed to recover his body, his training would not be the same, and it would take him a long time to recuperate.

“Recover your Spiritual Soul and Primordial Spirit first!” Su Mo commanded before his thoughts exited the spatial device.

Fu Qian was under Su Mo’s control. Or, rather, his life or death was under Su Mo’s control, for Su Mo had implanted a Thought Imprint in his Spiritual Soul.

This was Su Mo’s condition for sparing Fu Qian’s life, otherwise he would not have let him live and would have refined him instead.

Time passed quickly in their boring journey, month after month, year after year.

Very soon, thirty years or so had passed.

“The Location Compass reacted!”

One day, Huo Zhong suddenly spoke. Thousands of runes on the milky white Location Compass sparkled. It was an extremely dazzling sight.

The lights all pointed in the same direction but they flickered unstably and even the direction somehow drifted from side to side.

“That’s great!” Su Mo and Ling Chang were overjoyed that the Location Compass finally worked. They were relieved now.

“It’s still far, so the positioning of the Compass is still unstable, but the approximate location is confirmed!”

Huo Zhong continued, looking solemn, “Our direction has indeed deviated a lot, but at least we’re getting closer.”

“Yes, thank you for showing me the way, Elder Huo!” Su Mo said.

“My pleasure. Elder Jin Wu asked me to escort you two. I have to do my best!” Huo Zhong shook his head, then added, “How’s this? You two are slower, so why don’t you get into my spatial device? I’ll press on, and you won’t have to delay your training.”

“Wonderful!” Su Mo and Ling Chang nodded. That was a great idea.

And so, the two entered Huo Zhong’s spatial device. Huo Zhong made haste according to the Compass.

As someone of the Great Accomplishment Supreme Realm, Huo Zhong’s speed was much faster than Su Mo’s and Ling Chang’s, which greatly shortened their time on the road.

There was a lot of room inside Huo Zhong’s spatial device. It was hundreds of miles in size.

There was even a prosperous country inside. It had a population of a hundred million, all of whom believed in only one god. There were numerous statues of that particular god in every city cluster.

That god was Huo Zhong.

“Seems like Elder Huo practises mind power too!” Su Mo and Ling Chang stood on the top of a vast mountain, looking at the land in front of them.

“The mind power is quite a mystical force, nourishing the trainee at any time!” Ling Chang said. She and Su Mo both had some understanding of the subject.

Millions of Huo Zhong’s believers worshipped him every day, blessing him with a constant stream of thoughts.

Huo Zhong only had to calmly absorb these thoughts to continue improving his training. Of course, this would be fettered by talents and realms, for it could not be improved indefinitely.

“If one day we manage to raise our levels until they can’t be furthered anymore, perhaps we can try this!” Su Mo said.

After a moment’s chatter, Su Mo and Ling Chang sat cross-legged on top of the mountain and began their training.

Ling Chang began to study the Rule of Space, while Su Mo began to study his Devouring Rule.

At the Supreme Being Realm, studying Rule power was the first priority. The Rules determined the strength of combat, as well as the training level.
