Titan Rising Online: World Breaker

Chapter 304 304: Irgis City II

The carriage ride through the city was quite simple, Cole did not for once think he was important for once, whatever reason a carriage was sent for him, he would find out once he get\'s to his destination. But until he gets there Cole relaxed, perhaps for the first time ever in quite some time.

He paid attention to the streets they passed, moving through a couple of them before coming up on a major road that led out of the city. The carriage moved out of the gates and turned onto a well lit still paved road. Street lamps lined both sides as the carriage drove until it came to a fence 50 meters tall, and a few meters thick.

The carriage was allowed in, as it came into another area. The wall here were shorter, about 35 meters. Then they moved through another gate to come to another area with 25 meter tall walls, and then the final area that had fifteen meter tall walls. It was crazy the level of security that went I to this prison, but regardless they had arrived.

There was  manor built into the wall of the volcano, its entrance looked like something out of a horror film, as it seemed to have been carved into the depiction of snarling demon. Basically it gave one the impression that they were about to go into the belly of the beast of the very depths of hell itself. Peculiar to say the least, whoever was in charge seems to have a thing for theatrics.

The carriage came to a stop as Cole stepped out wordlessly, not even waiting for it to come to a complete stop before he stepped out. There was a line of almost thirty guards patrolling the entrance, while the walls themselves were absolutely filled with guards, anti-siege weapons, and some really nasty looking balistae. All looking like they could poke holes the size of a house into anything stupid enough to come close…. Cole could feel them giving off a lot of energy from where he was standing.

"If you would come with me sir, I will lead you to the lord." the man who had driven the carriage had finally decided to speak, for a moment Cole contemplated just not doing anything, just waiting to see if the so called Lord would come out to see himself, but he sighed and shook his head. He was getting a little too arrogant, sometimes humility was its own virtue….. some would argue humility is always a virtue….. hut it was so damn hard you know.

Cole stepped past the guards who could just as well have been statues with how still they all were. They were armored head to toe in some sort of blood red armor with turtle like shells/canisters on their backs. Through the lines on the shells, Cole could see Lava flowing, [Technoman] and [Arcan-Tech] were pretty much overkill for him as he could almost immediately deduce the functions of the armor and why Lava was involved.

It would have been a very impressive design if not for the fact that it seems all of the guards would be undergoing a lot of pain just to have those armor on. It pretty much explains the silence, they have been conditioned. Broken, these guys don\'t feel pain, and they were hollow, like the very essence of what made them who they are was gone, but what was worse, so much worse, was the fact that they were all I n the Gold rank, every single one of them.

The manor or rather it would be best to call it a castle first opened up into a long hallways. Red seems to be an ongoing theme for the people here as a deep red carpet stretched forth into a set of massive double door at the end. Hell with the distance Cole had to cross, he suspected that the door at the end would be leading him straight to the volcano shaft itself.

Within the hallway itself, there were a couple of doors on both sides. All of them the color of blood. There were no numbers to them, So Cole did not ask any questions, even if he asked questions he did not think this carriage driver would be willing to answer them, his job seems to be just to deliver Cole to whoever the master of this place was.

The hallways also had guards, still with the same theme of  a lava turtle shell, these guards were close to nine feet tall, were packed with so much muscle it would take two of Cole to make up the size of one, and top that off with a shark head, and you have  very dangerous set of guards to go through. They were posted between the doors on both sides of the hallway, after every door there was a shark guard, and Cole wouldn\'t lie, these guys were intimidating, and were a step above the guards outside.

If the ones outside could be considered to be gold rank I, then these guys were gold rank II. That was a ten point increase in power, and Cole had no qualms about what sort of power a gold ranker can bring to the table. He was an island filled to the brim with world destroying guards, each and every single one of them with broken minds.

Cole could see the value in such a force. They could not be stopped, they would be relentless and felt no pain and had enough power to turn the Eiffel tower or perhaps the Burj Khalifa to rubble in a single hit. These guys were terminators or perhaps this world\'s equivalent of a universal soldier, that meant deadly and dangerous on so many levels.

This was another obstacle in his part on getting that Peronico fellow out of here. But ultimately, Cole worked best under pressure, so he would just have to figure it out as he went. But first he had to meet with whoever was in charge here and see why he was being walked in, rather him just sneaking in and getting his charges out.

Eventually they got to the end of the hallway and the two massive doors opened up to what Cole Could only describe as sweltering heat. It took him a moment to acclimate to the atmosphere before he walked forwards. He was right in the sense that this was the Volcano shaft.

There was  a massive platform built onto it, massive pillows the size of houses seemed to cover the entirety with a long dinner table in the middle filled to the brim with food and delicacies, but only two chairs on both ends. The guide gestured for Cole to take a seat as he moved all the way to the top, looked at the other seat for a moment before moving past it and heading for one of the giant pillows.

Cole raised an eyebrow, but quickly dropped his jaw in tandem as the guides body began to bubble and shift in an extremely grotesque manner. Before he could so much as make a sound, a snout way bigger than the entire body blasted out of the chest, and soon enough the rest of the body followed until Cole was left face to face with a Red fire breathing Dragon.
